Frequently asked questions
The Citroën Jumpy appeared in 1994 as the sister model of the Peugeot Expert and Fiat Scudo. Since then, three generations and countless variants have come onto the market. Each version has its own buyer audience and influence on residual value. Whether you drive a compact L1, an extended L3 or a double cab, it helps to know what makes your Jumpy special.
The first generation (1994-2006) is now a classic among budget-friendly commercial vehicles. The second generation (2007-2016) offered more comfort and modern diesel engines. The current third generation (2016-present) scores with advanced driver assistance systems, an electric variant (ë-Jumpy) and more efficient BlueHDi engines. Each model year brings changes in emission standards: a Euro 6 engine is now desirable for low-emission zones.
The pure van with two or three seats remains the most common Jumpy. The combi version offers up to nine seats and is often used for passenger transport or as a shuttle. The double cab combines a second row of seats with a shorter load area, ideal for shift work. Naturally, a combi with glass and extra seats commands a different price than a bare panel van.
The Jumpy is available in three lengths. L1 (4.60 m) is agile in the city, L2 (4.95 m) offers a golden middle ground and L3 (5.30 m) maximises load volume up to 6.6 m³. For buyers who transport long materials, an L2 or L3 is often essential. Length and payload (up to around 1,400 kg) directly influence market value.
From the old 1.9 D to the modern 2.2 BlueHDi with 180 hp and eight-speed automatic: the engine determines consumption and popularity. The 2.0 HDi 120 hp is considered a reliable workhorse, while the 1.5 BlueHDi is favourable for those who want to save on fuel. Since 2021 there is also a fully electric ë-Jumpy, with a range of up to 330 km (WLTP). When selling, we always provide the current market value, taking into account engine, mileage and service history.
